VBS

We’re here to help, support, and pray for your church as you plan, prepare, and host VBS at your church, a park or a backyard.

Vacation Bible School (VBS) time is coming up soon, and summer will be here before we know it!  Will your church be hosting VBS this summer? If so, it’s never too early to start planning and preparing. VBS is a great outreach opportunity to reach the families in your community for Christ. I have great memories of VBS from attending when I was a child’ and now I’m teaching and leading in my church. VBS provides a week of Bible study, missions, music, crafts, and recreation for kids while teaching them about Jesus. What a great opportunity churches are given to have kids in your church for three hours a day, five days a week learning about God and how much He loves them. For some kids, this may be the first time they hear about God, or it may be the first time they open a Bible. The opportunities for making a difference in the life of a child are so abundant during the week of VBS. One week can change the life of a child and their family for eternity! And what is better than that?

VBS is a commitment for the local church, but let me tell you it’s so worth it! Below is a link to an article that Rhonda VanCleave, Publishing Team Lead at LifeWay, wrote in 2016, but is still relevant today. In this article she lists four reasons why VBS is important to the local church. I encourage you to read this article.
